A Hettich Endorsed Showroom has won top honours at the prestigious Housing Industry Association Awards announced on Saturday.
Perth-based kitchen designers and manufacturers, Western Cabinets has won an impressive five awards in the kitchens category at the HIA Awards.
Western Cabinets won HIA Kitchen Showroom of the Year, Best Renovated Kitchen in the $30,000-$40,000 category, Best Renovated Kitchen in the $40,000-$50,000 category, and Best Renovated Kitchen in the $50,000 and over category. Kia Douglas from Western Cabinets also won the Kitchen Design of the Year Award.
Western Cabinets Design and Sales Manager, Simon Cox attributes the recognition to a year of hard work.
Winning the HIA Excellence in Showroom Display award follows a major expansion of the Western Cabinets Osborne Park facility by 30-year veterans of the Perth cabinet making industry, Tony and Dominic Caccamo.
Featuring no less than six stunning kitchen designs, the state-of-the-art Western Cabinets Showroom has also won accreditation from one of the world’s leading cabinetry technology suppliers as a ‘Hettich Endorsed Showroom’.
All Hettich Endorsed Showrooms help project owners and their advisors transform kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms from the ordinary to the exceptional by providing a comprehensive selection of cabinetry hardware and lighting that make living spaces work beautifully.
According to Western Cabinets Director, Tony Caccamo, the company prides itself on efficiently managing kitchen projects from the initial consultation and the design phase right through to completion including coordination of all the trades.
Award-winning project designer, Simon Cox says each one of the six different kitchens draws extensively upon German technology innovator Hettich’s expertise in cabinetry hardware and lighting.
The central island kitchen in the showroom forms an ‘L’ shape with a strongly European influenced benchtop and stools on either side. The benchtop is a beautiful slab of mitred 10mm stainless steel with an integrated sink.
Another kitchen with a bright yellow splashback reflects very crisp, fine lines in its contemporary Euro-styling while elsewhere a slab-like island bench appears to rest on another creating a sculptural Bauhaus feel to the design.
Yet another kitchen utilises technology where a touch of the magnetic splashback causes it to open to reveal storage behind, with another section folding down to reveal an integrated chopping board, knife rack and spice jars recessed into the wall with everything within very easy reach.
A bright lime green kitchen cabinet with multi-changing lights beneath makes the boldest design statement at the showroom.
Simon Cox says the quality of Hettich products is superior to other brands in the market, not only in their design but also the durability that makes the hardware last for a long time.
