A 7-storey office block was given a new lease of life with the help of two hired double head concrete grinders and medium-sized dust collectors from Kennards Concrete Care .
Kennards Concrete Care supplied the concrete grinders to Mainbrace Constructions, which provides construction management services for retail, commercial and industrial developments across eastern Australia, and is the preferred contractor to some of Australia’s major developers and retailers.
Site foreman David Frost said the building was gutted before a full renovation, which involved polishing about 10,000 square metres of concrete floor was carried out.
According to David, the slabs were in a terrible condition with an uneven surface and covered in epoxy resin among other substances.
The Mainbrace team however, was able to get an excellent finish on them with the hired concrete grinders.
Initially, it was necessary to experiment with different machines and diamonds to see which would do the job best. Once the concrete grinders were identified, the work was executed smoothly with timely service and assistance provided by Kennards Concrete Care.
