Krause Bricks was established in 1945 in Stawell in rural Victoria by John Krause, and is engaged in the manufacture of differentiated, boutique brick products. Presently, Krause Bricks is owned and managed by the founder’s son and grandson. The product range of Krause Bricks consists of wire cut and pressed bricks, extruded bricks, and blocks and pavers in a range of colours from reds and blues to warm, earthy shades.
The pressed brick range from Krause Bricks is available in categories such as Grampians blue, red-blue, old red, autumn tone, red or blue clinker, warm grey and blue clinker. Pressed clay bricks from Krause Bricks are individually hand sorted and stacked into batches after firing in down draught batch kilns. It is proper controlling of firing which produces distinct colours, such as blues, purples, red-blues, autumn shades, grey-browns and coffee.
Krause Bricks makes available its extruded range in red-blue, red rustic, clinker, coffee rustic, old red, autumn tone and apricot red.
Additionally, Krause Bricks produces special bricks in specific shapes for specific projects. Special bricks are manufactured by Krause Bricks even to specifications of architects.
