Ausgrid (formerly Energy Australia) recently undertook a supply and demand five years network upgrade plan, with Leda Security Products providing security gates and fencing for the project.
The securing of zone substation assets and generating equipment is a key priority for electricity suppliers to ensure that employees and the public are safe, while ensuring an uninterrupted supply of power to customers.
Fugen Constructions contacted Leda Security Products to engineer and construct two pairs of high security transformer runway gates and associated perimeter palisade security fencing for one of Ausgrid's locations in Crow's Nest, Sydney. The company also supplied personnel gates to the busy urban office.
Dulux Ferreko No.3-PC560 was also applied to the large, 4m x 6m security gates installed at the site. This two pack epoxy coating system contains a high level of micaceous iron oxide, and is applied after hot dipped galvanizing. Finally, the gates were fitted with razor wire topping to meet Ausgrid’s specification.
