Architectural membranes specialist MakMax Australia has been contracted by York Rizzani Joint Venture to supply the fabric facade for the Swan River Pedestrian Bridge.
Designed to provide exclusive pedestrian and cyclist access over the river, the visually stunning bridge is 370m long and 9m wide, and will provide an iconic focal point for the city of Perth.
The structural forces are clearly and uniquely defined in the black and white fabric arch ribbons, reflecting both structural interdependency and the symbolic coming together of diverse cultures.
MakMax Australia is the market leader in the delivery of design, engineering and installation of custom fabric structures. For this particular project, MakMax supplied 5,700sqm (white) and 10,100sqm (black) of FGT 800 CHUKOH (PTFE) fabric.
