The new Markilux Australia “zip” awning systems innovatively combine a strong extruded aluminium cassette window blind and fly-screen into one practical solution.
These fully motorised window systems simultaneously block out light, heat, wind and insects, making them suitable for a broad range of domestic and commercial applications. In addition to the standard motor, radio-controlled motors and hand-held transmitters as well as radio-controlled light and wind sensors are available as special accessories.
Markilux Country Manager Simon Lightfoot says; “The markilux “zip” system simplifies the layering we often see on windows. The gauze fly-screen and sunshade tuck away neatly into one single window frame and slim-line casette, minismising the need for multiple window fixtures.”
These “zip” awning systems make use of heavily wind tested tension belts, to ensure both fly-screen and shade are firmly locked in place. They have been proven to withstand wind resistance class 3 (40-50km/h) according to awning standard DIN EN 13561, with low noise impact on the interior.
Additionally, they have been wind tunnel tested and have the capacity to withstand a wind force 8 (63-75km) on the Beaufort scale.
Markilux offers customers and architects a choice of more than 35 custom built systems and an extensive textile range of 285 possible patterns. In addition to the standard colours traffic white, metallic aluminium and grey-brown, the awnings are also available in all 208 RAL colours.
‘Sun smart’ features include fabrics with factor UPF 50+ protection, and a block out rate of 97% for all UV radiation.
