Moddex supplied a turnkey modular access ramp solution to Ausco Modular for one of their Victoria branch office buildings to resolve their accessibility problem. The Ausco office is one of the first Victorian projects to feature the Ezibilt ramp, deck and stair system – one of Moddex’s latest pre-engineered innovations.

A modular ramp, stair and deck system comprising pre-engineered modules, Ezibilt is equipped with adjustable platform heights and offers the flexibility to arrange each ramp, step or deck component in various configurations on level and sloping site terrains of 26° to 45° degrees.

Project Overview

For this project, Ausco opted for an Ezibilt ramp comprising four modules paired with Assistrail disability handrails for turnkey compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and every building classification within the National Construction Code (NCC).

Ausco was eager to have a seamless transition between the deck and the ramp, so they completed their deck with Moddex’s modwood to achieve uniformity in the transition. This engineered timber-look board is slip-rated and fire-rated for all building applications. 

So impressed by the turnkey modularity of this pre-engineered system, Ausco has confidently voiced that they will use the Ezibilt system for their own temporary building hire deployments.

Why was Moddex chosen?

As described by Ausco’s modular operations manager, Moddex was selected for our long-term track record and partnership with Ausco. Looking for a modular solution for their accessibility problem, Ezibilt also served as a successful trial and test run for their intention to use this modular system for future temporary building hire offerings.

Based on the client’s requirements and the site assessment, Moddex developed a comprehensive design proposal. This included detailed plans, drawings, and 3D visualisations to understand the final installation clearly.

Once the design was finalised and approved by Ausco Modular, Moddex supplied and installed the prefabricated modular ramp system. For this project, it only took two of Moddex’s installation team members 12 working hours to complete the entire project.
