Conectabal balustrade systems from Moddex Systems were specified for the Plum Garland Playground located on Beaconsfield Parade in the City of Port Phillip in Victoria.
A major review and consultation exercise undertaken in late 2012 aimed to identify the best way to upgrade this important recreational facility suffering from wear and tear, particularly from the coastal conditions. The upgrade of Plum Garland Playground commenced in early 2013.
Moddex Systems’ Conectabal product range was specified at the planning stage by the architects. Conectabal’s unique commercial balustrade fittings combine strength, durability and versatility with cost-effective modular design requiring no onsite welding.
Moddex was also specified for its full compliance with all OH&S requirements and all standards for access and mobility and ensuring safety for young children at play. Moddex was additionally commissioned to manufacture bespoke wave panelling in keeping with the gentle rolling waves of the seaside area.
Moddex provided the required 100 metres of balustrading to encircle the playground and protect the children at play. The modular construction of the playground area barriers allows simple and safe installation without any requirement for specialist trades. The playground installation was completed in less than four days.
