The central library of the Konrad-Adenauer-Platz 1 in Düsseldorf, Germany opened its doors to visitors in late 2021. The library is spread across 8000 square metres over two floors.
A challenge with the library design was the ceiling of the rectangular vestibule, which called for a product with precisely fitting angles that could also bring sufficient daylight into the library.
durlum’s solution for the ceiling design was a bespoke version of its S4.7 K-TS metal panels. The rectangular metal panels are made of highly reflective aluminium that direct daylight effectively into the interior while the easy-to-install sprung system can be fixed with a seamless appearance or with visible joints.
