Durlum was engaged to supply their metal ceilings for the Meadowbank education precinct project designed by Woods Bagot.
Completed in 2022, the new purpose built school combining Meadowbank Public School and Marsden High School caters for 1,000 primary students, 1,500 high school students and a 120-place Intensive English Centre.
Woods Bagot’s beautiful design for this multi-level, multipurpose school is based on a concept of “learning in the landscape” and contains contemporary adaptable home bases, laboratories and workshops, a 4-level central library, indoor gymnasium, multipurpose communal hall, and outdoor learning play and recreational areas (covered and uncovered).
Each level has a colour theme, and there is a strong link between the classrooms, covered outdoor learning areas (COLAs) and passageways. The ceilings by Durlum play an important role in integrating these areas together.
Durlum was engaged to supply metal ceilings for the covered outdoor areas (learning and recreational), outdoor passageways, gymnasium and the school hall, as they were able to fulfil Woods Bagot’s design brief. The Durlum design team worked closely with Woods Bagot and the interiors contractor, X-clusive Group throughout the project lifecycle from the conceptual design, CAD drawings and prototypes through to the shop drawings for final sign-off and production.
Products used:
