The Newcastle Knights Centre of Excellence, located in the Hunter region in NSW, is a leading rugby facility, opened in March 2022 as a high-performance training facility for the development of rugby league talent in the region.
These state-of-the-art training facilities provide not only a new home for the team but also a vibrant new precinct for Newcastle’s sporting community. The ceilings in the pool/spa area were designed to feature a linear timber finish. Finding a solution that would maintain the timber look and straight lines, was anti-corrosive and durable, and had minimal maintenance in a moist environment were key drivers.
durlum’s solution was a bespoke woodgrain metal ceiling with slotted perforations. Easy to install and remove, the aluminium powdercoated panels will not corrode ensuring the finish will continue to look good for many years to come.
