The ultra-modern and futuristic Medicana Ataşehir Hospital sits in the middle of Istanbul, a city with a rich history built on Greek-Roman antiquity, medieval Byzantine architecture and contemporary, modern Turkey.
Executed by Medicana Project Management, the new hospital is designed to create a pleasant environment for both patients and staff, with the interiors helping to promote the healing process.
durlum’s LIVA and LOOP metal ceilings fit perfectly into the overall wellness concept. In the entrance and waiting area, the bronze coloured LIVA ceiling has its baffles arranged multi-directionally; with a free cross-section of more than 95%, it creates an open and homogeneous ceiling look.
The special design for this project required LIVA panels to be installed below the plasterboard ceiling, completely concealing the ceiling void from sight.
In other areas, the acoustically optimised LOOP metal ceiling with PUNTEO-J60 LED spots provides an elegant, seamless look and an atmosphere that promotes a sense of wellbeing.
The vision, design and function have been adapted perfectly to suit the needs of patients. Completed in February 2021, the project featured the following durlum products:
Multidirectional LIVA open-cell ceiling: Design in two different dimensions [H x W]: 200 x 98 mm and 100 x 98 mm; spacing: 120mm; powdercoated in bronze; surface area: 210m²
LOOP TYP 2 perforated metal ceiling: Aluminium; free cross-section > 50%; deep-drawn perforation with a diameter of 60mm; acoustically effective design with DUROBOND; powdercoated in metallic; surface area: 227m²
PUNTEO-J60: Efficient LED downlights with superlative glare suppression; quantity: 125 fittings
