Ontera Modular Carpets Pty Ltd supplied their modular carpet tiles for the refurbishment project at the Queensland University of Technology – S Block in Brisbane.
Specified by Suters Architects, two products from Ontera’s modular carpet tiles range were selected for installation. These included ‘Colours With Attitude’ and ‘Colourweave’.
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) was primarily developed in the 1980s and 1990s with vertically orientated high rise buildings, interconnected through narrow laneways and elevated walkways.
A key requirement in the redevelopment and refurbishment of QUT's S Block was to maximise natural light and provide open, collaborative working environments to cater for an increasing student density in addition to housing an additional, relocated faculty.
Ontera’s modular carpet tiles on each floor incorporate a separate, identifiable colour to promote wayfinding without the use of signage. Each colour is prominently displayed on walls, furniture and floor coverings.
