SUNTUF corrugated polycarbonate panels were specified for a challenging roofing application at the Aviva Stadium in Ireland.
The corrugated polycarbonate panels, manufactured by Palram Australia, were chosen by the architect HOK Sport (Populous) for a skylight-type application at the stadium in 2010. The roofing material was characterised by low thickness panels, a requirement met by Palram’s proprietary corrugation technology.
Palram met all the project challenges in terms of design, production and logistics, and installed the corrugated panels perpendicular to the slope, relying on the stadium’s unique ‘wavy’ architecture. This allowed a 65 percent decrease in the panel's thickness, which helped fulfil the architect’s vision.
SUNTUF corrugated polycarbonate panels were supplied in Clear and Matte 3mm, 8290 profile. The stadium application required over 20,000 square metres of corrugated polycarbonate panels.
