Glazed bricks from the Vibrant collection by PGH Bricks & Pavers
have been used in a stunning application in The Block Sky High, a popular
Channel 9 television series.
The Block’s biggest project to date involved converting an old South
Melbourne hotel into apartments. The five competing couples had to work on six floors
with 80 rooms and convert each floor into a 220-square metre luxury apartment,
complete with three bedrooms, five bathrooms, open plan kitchen, living and
dining, plus a huge enclosed terrace. The five couples also had to design the
common areas, including the roof terrace, foyer and entrance.
PGH Watermelon bricks from the Vibrant collection were selected for the
external entry to the building, adding a striking red glazed look. This playful
and inviting look is carried forward into the foyer of the building where the
Watermelon Splits are featured. The use of both standard size and split fully
glazed bricks creates a stunning juxtaposition of colour and texture on the
exterior and interior walls, lighting up the space with a fun element.
PGH’s Vibrant collection consists of bricks finished with a full ceramic
glaze, and offers a palette of seven fun and funky colours including Cosmic,
Fizz, Paris, Wasabi, Rhapsody, Tango and Watermelon. The palette delivers a
whole new perspective on bricks and the way they are used. The Vibrant
collection is ideal for both interior and exterior projects.
Approximately 2000 Watermelon bricks from the PGH Vibrant collection were
used on the external entrance while approximately 2,000 Watermelon splits from
the PGH Vibrant Splits collection were featured in the internal foyer area.
