More than 4.6 million people viewed the rugby league goal posts supplied by PILA group® at ANZ Stadium during the 2014 NRL Grand Final.
The 2014 NRL Grand Final between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on Sunday night peaked at a massive 4.6 million viewers, making it the highest rated NRL match of all time, even surpassing the previous weekend’s AFL Grand Final audience of 3.5 million.
To get the goal posts in place last year, PILA and ANZ Stadium were in consultation for months leading up to the installation just two weeks before the 2013 Charity Shield game.
Being a multi-sport venue, ANZ Stadium needed 15m goal posts for Rugby League, Rugby Union and AFL. Instead of supplying unique goal posts for each sport, PILA provided a practical solution with a set of 15m uprights that could be placed in the appropriately spaced ground sleeves to accommodate all three football codes. Conversion to AFL is made simple with the inclusion of 10m point posts, and cross-bars with PILA’s unique clamping system for Rugby League and Rugby Union games.
The project’s success can be attributed to PILA’s willingness to understand the customer’s needs and provide the right solution at the right cost and on time.
