A recent upgrade of the Knox Private Hospital in East Melbourne features a striking contemporary facade that adds excitement to the development. Designed by Woods Bagot Architects, the $180-million upgrade to the hospital included an extended car park on Baronia Road, Wantirna to provide 350 additional parking spots.
The contemporary facade to the car park facing Boronia Road was created using the brick inlay system from Robertson Facade Systems. The builder, Watpac used the simple and cost-efficient construction solution to create a stunning facade for the structural concrete walls of the car park. Featuring Blue Grey and Pressed Red brick facing tiles, the facade has an eye-catching design and offers a highly amenable solution to the neighbourhood.
Melbourne architecture firm Woods Bagot chose the two thin brick tiles as they not only resembled standard bricks in size, but also beautifully complemented each other with their contrasting rich, earthy colours.
