Pressed red brick tiles and a brick inlay system from Robertson's Building Products Pty Ltd have been installed on the external facade of a contemporary apartment block in Melbourne’s inner city area of Richmond. These two products supplied by Robertson’s Facade Systems have helped create an eye-catching building that’s beginning to stop traffic.
Designed by Karl Fender of Melbourne architecture firm Fender Katsalidis, and built by Hacer Group, Jacques Apartments is a spacious and contemporary apartment building offering just 56 luxury apartments. Targeting the owner-occupier segment, the high-end apartments are priced $400,000 to $2,000,000, and offer luxury amenities as well as easy proximity to Bridge Road shops, the West Richmond train station and the CBD.
The striking external facade features pressed red bricks as well as the cost-effective and efficient brick inlay system, selected by Karl Fender and supplied by Robertson’s Facade Systems. During construction, Westkon Precast placed over 100,000 pressed red thin brick tiles into the concrete of the external panels. Thanks to the clever brick inlay system, each panel is created offsite, and quickly and efficiently installed on site, with no mess or fuss.
The choice of Robertson’s brick products has not only increased the speed and efficiency of construction, but also perfectly complements the historical buildings in the neighbourhood.
