Rotech Group Pty Ltd announces their latest range of full height turnstiles featuring an innovative battery back-up system to enable continuous operation. New features in the TriStar F21 full height turnstiles ensure Australian organisations can protect their employees and property in the face of new terror threats within the country.
Turnstiles have always been a part of any facility’s overall security plan. However, the increasing threat of extremist activity has seen a corresponding rise in demand for the heightened security afforded by access control equipment such as turnstiles.
Following the Lindt Cafe terror event, many organisations increased their security to protect their employees, with businesses such as television stations, corporate offices and strategic manufacturing facilities soon installing one of Rotech’s full height turnstiles.
The preferred methods of securing properties and facilities are changing rapidly. Developers and building owners are now more willing to consider physical barriers for security and are increasingly looking for access control systems that offer the right combination of security, user comfort and personal safety to enhance and add value to their building.
Rotech’s TriStar F21 full height turnstile offers the optimum level of secure access and the required robustness for use outdoors or indoors. In addition to the innovative battery back-up system, the Australian-made turnstile offers increased height over the previous model, adding to accessibility without compromising on security.
When integrated with an access control system, the TriStar F21 full height turnstile can help track the movement of employees and visitors so that operators can quickly determine if anyone is left behind during an emergency evacuation situation. In addition to monitoring the time and attendance of each individual, and tracking the movement of visitors in or out, the integrated system can also restrict access by unauthorised people.
The TriStar F21 addresses the increased requirement for security monitoring with the new status indication system allowing the operator to see when the turnstile is closed and if the entry (or exit) is freewheeling. The emergency key release is also monitored.
The TriStar F21 full height turnstile’s innovative battery back-up system handles power outages automatically with the built-in relay instantly initiating back-up power and setting off a loud warning siren as indication. The turnstile can operate normally on back-up for up to 3000 cycles. This is a particularly important feature in an emergency situation when there’s no power, but the access control system needs to continue receiving information and monitor movement through the turnstile.
Key features and benefits of TriStar F21 full height turnstiles include 2100mm internal height and wide entrance addressing all accessibility concerns, allowing easy access for personnel wearing hard hats, carrying tools and equipment while still preventing tailgating or piggy backing; low maintenance system with soft start and stop technology enabling even children to easily move the rotating arms without compromising on safety and security; compatibility with all access control systems; and broad customisation options for a tailored solution.
Solar power-operated and portable versions of the TriStar F21 are also available for remote areas or difficult building sites with no access to mains power.
