The latest Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) staff levels survey shows a one percent rise in architectural employment to the six months to September which was in line with expectations for the period. The 400 firms that participated expect the increase will continue, with a further two percent rise predicted in the following six months.
“These figures suggest a positive turnaround in building activity levels in the short to medium term,” says Sandra Draganich, RAIA research manager.
The largest increases in employment for the period just surveyed were seen inTasmania, Queensland and NSW, with these states benefiting from staff level rises of 16 percent, three percent and two percent respectively.
