Leading provider of electronic smart control solutions SALTO Oceania has become a B-cycle-Accredited Battery Steward, underlining their commitment to environmental sustainability and reducing impact on the environment.
SALTO Oceania is now a proud B-cycle-Accredited Battery Steward via the Battery Stewardship Council’s (BSC) B-cycle Scheme. B-cycle is about creating a responsible battery lifecycle – from buying better batteries for the planet, to safe use, and convenient recycling. B-cycle creates a closed-loop lifecycle for batteries.
As part of this commitment, SALTO has partnered with Ecobatt, a BSC-endorsed battery recycling company based in Melbourne, to set up recycling receptacles/drop-off points at all of their distributor LSC’s branches for business partners to use. SALTO is also recommending that its built environment clients reach out to Ecobatt directly to provide drop-off points within their buildings.
"At SALTO Oceania, we believe in taking responsibility for our impact on the environment," said Frederik Troester, SALTO Oceania's managing director. "We are proud to become a B-cycle-Accredited Battery Steward and to work with Ecobatt to support battery recycling efforts in Australia. We believe that it is our responsibility to take steps to reduce our impact on the environment and to encourage others to do the same."
B-cycle is an industry-led initiative that aims to promote the responsible recycling of batteries in Australia. The program is designed to ensure that batteries are recycled in an environmentally responsible manner as well as reduce the environmental impact of battery disposal.

SALTO Oceania's partnership with Ecobatt is an important step toward achieving the company's sustainability goals. By providing recycling receptacles/drop-off points at their distributor's branches, SALTO is making it easier for partners to dispose of smart lock and device batteries in an environmentally responsible manner.
"We believe that it is important for companies to take responsibility for their impact on the environment and to take steps to reduce that impact. We look forward to working with SALTO Oceania to support its sustainability goals," said Peter Cage, managing director of Ecobatt.
SALTO Oceania's commitment to sustainability is an important part of the company's mission to provide innovative and reliable electronic access control solutions. SALTO is committed to providing their customers with the highest level of security and convenience while also taking steps to reduce their impact on the environment.
