Following successful collaboration during the design phase of the project, planning and architecture firm Gensler invited SAS International back to highlight some unique characteristics of the Citrix Sydney headquarters.
The digital workspace provider recently took up residence at 100 Mount Street, Sydney and wanted to ensure the distinctive style of its new home was given the attention it deserved.
To ensure alignment with the perimeter of the boardroom and meeting rooms, the ceiling of the office space had to be an oval shape. Using SAS200, SAS320 and a bespoke transition piece, the ceiling met the design specifications and acoustic requirements and allowed easy integration with services.
“Services co-ordination was essential within the transition space between the two ceiling types. SAS provided a bespoke solution in the form of a custom transition piece, which allowed for services to be integrated in the required location. Furthermore, this offered support to the two different ceiling types on either side,” explained Lois Bateman, design manager at SAS.
“SAS was also able to design and manufacture SAS320 tiles in a trapezoidal shape to suit the radial layout required for the boardroom and meeting rooms. Finally, we provided location plans for each tile type to assist with install.”
Being one of the most adaptable metal systems available, SAS200 is ideal for incorporating bespoke elements. The shape and size of the tiles can be manufactured to fit any module size, within the limits of the material, and the tiles are fully demountable without the need for an access tool. A hidden 3mm gasket in each module aids installation and improves the aesthetic appeal.
SAS320, a tile lay-in system specifically designed for use in corridor or plasterboard surroundings, provides a flexible system-targeted acoustic performance in demanding areas. In addition, it is more cost-effective compared to the more traditional and expansive grid suspensions. In this project, the ceilings are also GreenTag certified.
