The Shaw Contract Group seeks creative and innovative design projects from architects and interior designers for their annual Design Is…Award competition.
Now in its 11th year, the Shaw Contract Group Design Is…Award honours architects and interior designers who continue to redefine design and its impact on everyday life. Entries will be judged by distinguished members of the design community across all market segments globally.
This year’s program will begin with market awards, with the winners representing the highest calibre within an industry segment. The market award winners will move on to the Global Award program and People’s Choice voting later in the year.
Shaw Contract Group Australia Managing Director Bill Magee says the Design Is…Award continues to champion design excellence across market segments globally. He adds that the design awards program recognises amazing work and celebrates the design story behind each and every project.
Jackson Clements Burrows’ Monash International Bachelor of Business City Campus was named a Shaw Contract Group Design Is…Award Global winner in 2015. The entry competed against 48 market winners selected from 477 entries from 30 countries. This was also the second year in a row that an Australian project won a Global award.
Global winners will be promoted through marketing materials, media promotion and an advertisement campaign in leading architecture and design publications. Two representatives from each winning firm will also get to experience a design journey with Shaw Contract Group.
Winning firms additionally receive $2,000 to donate to the school or organisation of their choice. Since 2006, Shaw Contract Group has donated over $100,000 through the Design Is…Award program to support design education and social responsibility, in the name of the winning firms.
