Luxury vinyl tiles from Signature Floors were specified by The Bold Collective for Airbnb’s Sydney office.
Aligned with their core objective to connect people and spaces, Airbnb sought to create themed meeting rooms in the office based on their global listings. To emphasise the company’s strong social and collaborative culture, the tone of the new workspace had to be inviting and casual.
The design needed to inspire employees to move around the office, using different spaces to work. Each meeting room had a particular theme and a matching vibe, which needed to be created. For instance, the Swedish inspired sitting room needed a relaxed and chic atmosphere. Finally, the interiors required a homely feel that accentuated the Airbnb motto, ‘Belong anywhere’.
In addition to the challenging timeframe, the design created in Sydney had to be approved by the office’s San Francisco-based headquarters.
Signature’s Moduleo Transform LVT was selected for its hard-wearing but natural appearance, helping create a homely vibe that resonated with Airbnb’s corporate values.
Moduleo Signature Verdon Oak 24117 was selected for the Scandinavian themed room for its cool and contemporary style, while the Montreal Oak 24570 was chosen for the Kangaroo Valley Cabin Boardroom to suit the rustic feel of the meeting room.
