Etex Australia announces that their Altona, Matraville, Beenleigh and Bundaberg manufacturing and distribution facilities have been formally approved for re-certification to the most current versions of the ISO management system standards for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management. Etex Australia is the manufacturer of Siniat products in Australia.
The management systems at these plants have been certified to ISO 9001 for quality management systems, ISO 14001 for environmental management systems and ISO 45001 for health & safety management systems.
The ISO certification followed an independent assessment by an external auditor, SAI Global and auditing on site.
“The auditor independently assessed our organisation against the criteria of the standards,” explained Kathryn Walker, Etex Australia’s national WHS and sustainability manager. “Certification actions are ongoing with regular surveillance audits every year by the independent auditor.”
“We are proud to be the first in the gypsum industry in Australia to achieve a triple certification for our manufacturing operations,” said Etex Australia managing director Gavin Burton.
“Being certified to these standards provides our customers with the peace of mind that our plants provide quality products, minimise harmful effects on the environment caused by its activities, and support and promote good Health & Safety practices, in balance with socio-economic needs,” Burton said.
“We are very proud of the results. These achievements support us in attaining our business goals – in being our customers’ best supplier, in ensuring we all go home safe every day, and that in everything we do we keep the environment and society in mind.”
