Smoke Control supplied and installed two Windowshield fire shutters at a hospital in Trangie NSW. The hospital required fire protection for all windows situated within three metres of the boundary.
Smoke Control’s Windowshield fire shutter systems satisfy BCA Clause C3.4 - Acceptable methods of protection, which states:
“(a) Where protection is required, doorways, windows and other openings must be protected as follows:
(ii) Windows —
(A) internal or external wall-wetting sprinklers as appropriate used with windows that are automatic closing or permanently fixed in the closed position; or
(B) –/60/– fire windows that are automatic closing or permanently fixed in the closed position; or
(C) –/60/– automatic closing fire shutters.”
Smoke Control’s Windowshield is an automatically closing fire shutter providing the required 60-minute fire protection to openings located within three metres of a boundary.
