Soundblock Solutions has released an acrylic window which is held on the PVC sub frame by a continuous magnetic strip which is set into a PVC channel. The acrylic window is sealed in place, creating an air space with the existing window and producing an insulating barrier. Optical clear acrylic is will not yellow or craze.
The Soundblock Insulating Window System had been tested by an NATA-registered laboratory. The lab measured its performance when used in conjunction with a conventional sliding window. The tests confirmed that when an existing window is equipped with the appropriate Soundblock configuration, sound attenuation performance is dramatically improved.
