A classic Queenslander in Maryborough is no stranger to the benefits of the Sunbrella awning fabrics. Constructed in 1914, the house has only had two owners with the original owner living in the house until 1962. The house then sat dormant for further 10 years until the current owners, Noel and Judy Goodsall, purchased the house privately in 1972.
The house received a complete makeover in 1998, with Judy commissioning Stanfast Pty Ltd to install rollup awnings for protection against the harsh Queensland sun. This addition helped them win one of the inaugural Heritage Awards in Maryborough in 1999.
Back then Sunbrella awning fabrics carried a 5 year warranty, and some 12 years on the Sunbrella fabric has far exceeded its owner’s expectations, and it is now time to give the old awning an update.
Noel and Judy have requested Sunbrella as their awning fabric of choice again and the fabric just keeps getting better and better. Now with a 10 year warranty, Judy says with a smile “I’m hopeful that I may get 20 years of service from our new awnings”
