Foamex Group strongly supports EPSA’s guidelines for the safe storage, transportation and onsite management of EPS waffle pods.
As a long-serving member of Expanded Polystyrene Australia (EPSA), the peak national body for EPS manufacturers and distributors in Australia, Foamex remains committed to their environmental pledges and adheres to specific and stringent policies regarding the responsible handling of their EPS waffle pods in the field.
Foamex Diamond Pods are delivered to construction sites, tightly wrapped together with plastic shrink wrap. They are then further secured onsite using netting over the top and all sides, which is then attached to pegs in the ground to minimise the risk of blow-away and damage. Once the Diamond Pods are laid, Foamex’s intuitively designed lock-in spacers ensure that all pods are secure and held in place.
Every order of Foamex Diamond Pods is delivered with bags to store off-cuts and left-over polystyrene. Foamex will also pick up polystyrene waste from construction sites if required and return them to their own manufacturing facility to be repurposed into new EPS products.
Foamex cannot control how customers manage waffle pods onsite during construction; however, the company ensures they themselves remain compliant with the EPSA code of conduct governing responsible waffle pod practices.
