Ultraflex Panelling supplied black core FR MDF for the ceiling panels at the Coomera Community Hub. The ceiling panels were installed in the entry foyer and the library.
Entry foyer curved panels
Ultraflex was engaged by the builder on this project to provide pre-curved slotted acoustic timber ceiling panels for direct fixing onto the furring channel. The curved ceiling panels were manufactured to meet Group 1 fire rating with the material also carrying PEFC environmental certification as required by the client.
About 500 square metres of Ultraflex’s black core FR MDF with Plantation Oak natural timber veneer in a clear waterborne finish were used in the application.
Library slotted ceiling panels
Ultraflex also supplied ceiling panels for the library with pre-curved fixing battens behind the black acoustic fleece for ease of installation on site. Ultraflex’s black core FR MDF provides clean shadow-lines and express joins between the panels. Based on the shop drawings provided by the drafting team, Ultraflex manufactured custom panels to suit the curved perimeter walls. All service cut-outs were pre-drilled on Ultraflex’s CNC machine prior to being shipped to the site.
About 1000 square metres of Ultraflex’s black core FR MDF with natural timber veneer in a clear waterborne finish were used in the application.
