The building
Al Hamra is one of the tallest towers, and by far the tallest sculpted skyscraper in the world. With a height of 414 metres and 80 levels, Al Hamra contains a business centre as well as a luxury centre. The tower is visible from miles around and provides a spectacular view over Kuwait and across the Arabian Gulf. The solid south wall is designed to decrease solar radiation.
The requirement
However, the impressive glass facade of the tower required a sustainable solution for temperature and solar control.
