Wood structures, like all lightweight constructions, do not have a high acoustic performance at low frequencies. This is particularly true concerning impact sounds and the transmission of structural vibrations through the structure (flanking noise).
For this purpose, the propagation of vibrations shall be limited with appropriate design and materials, using resilient profiles according to the desolidarisation principle. Based on the results from experimental measurements and actual designs, the webinar will explain the solutions for mass timber structures, how to choose the correct resilient profile, where and how to install it in order to optimize its efficiency.
