The Prince’s Terrace Adelaide will be the subject and venue of ‘Experience Sustainability’, a special event organised by the Adelaide Sustainable Building Network (ASBN) to showcase the sustainable design features of the green residential project. The Prince’s Terrace Adelaide is a high performance multi-unit residential development in the revitalised urban precinct of Bowden in South Australia, and sets a new benchmark in environmentally sustainable design.
Hosted by ASBN and sponsored by ZEGO Building Systems, the experiential event will be conducted on 24 February 2018 between 11am and 3pm in four timeslots for the convenience of attendees. Each session will begin with a small presentation on the sustainability features of the development by Ken Long, a project team member and sustainability consultant with Dsquared Consulting. The presentation will be followed by a tour around a terrace home and a mews unit with Ken also taking questions about the project.
The Prince’s Terrace Adelaide
A ground-breaking collaboration between Defence Housing Australia (DHA), The Prince's Trust Australia and the State Government’s Urban Renewal Authority (Renewal SA), The Prince’s Terrace Adelaide has been awarded Australia’s first 6 Star Green Star Design rating for a residential project by the Green Building Council of Australia.
Comprising of 12 high-quality units in a mix of eight terrace homes as well as four apartments built as mews behind the terraces, the homes are expected to use 50 per cent less energy and potable water than a typical urban townhouse, with the carbon footprint also reduced by more than 40 per cent when compared to a standard house.
This project will demonstrate the benefits of well-located and sustainable living, which will not only guide DHA’s future projects, but also become a benchmark for residential development in Australia.
The ASBN thanks Defence Housing Australia for allowing them to showcase a leading sustainable housing development in South Australia.
