As one of the fastest and most enthusiastic adaptors to the digital age, the architecture and design industry is increasingly reliant on new technologies to maintain the quality and quantity of its creative output. Practitioners are demanding speed, efficiency, and reliability from all pieces of their workplace tech, in addition to high levels of cyber security and environmental performance. The HP DesignJet XL 3600 multifunction printer (MFP) delivers each of these characteristics with ease, allowing designers to spend less time at the printer and scanner and more time doing what they love best: designing.
Designed and engineered for maximum efficiency, the HP DesignJet XL 3600 keeps pace with even the busiest, fastest-paced design office without compromising print quality. Automatic media loading, a rapid printhead, and print stacking of up to 100 pages enables printing of the first page in a set in just 29 seconds, while HP Thermal Inkjet technology yields high quality prints of up to 2400 x 1200 optimised dpi. Ideal for printing everything from photographs to maps, the HP DesignJet XL 3600 has an impressive line accuracy of ± 0.1%, making it suitable for line drawings, presentation graphics, and high quality renderings in which detail is critical. This high level of speed and precision extends to the MFP’s scanning functionality, which includes automated scanning to enable easy digitisation of project files and comprehensive post-editing capabilities. A responsive touch screen allows fast, easy, and secure access by multiple users, all of whom can program user-centric quicksets and access personal and group folders for instant printing and sharing.
In addition to delivering prints and scans of unrivalled quality at unmatched speeds, the HP DesignJet XL 3600 marks a new standard in workplace cyber security and dynamic security enabled printers. The world’s most secure large format MFP, it combines features such as HP Secure Boot, whitelisting, and the HP JetAdvantage Security Manager to ensure that all files stored on, and processed through, the unit are entirely secure and can only be accessed by users authorised via in-built secure user authentication software. Together, each of these features grant design practitioners peace of mind that their designs and valuable IP are safe from cyber-attack or unauthorised access.
Supplementing the HP DesignJet XL 3600’s high level of output is a degree of performance efficiency unseen in other MFPs currently on the market. The printer is 30% smaller than comparable units, making it ideal for today’s increasingly compact workspaces, and operates at a significantly lower noise level than its counterparts; beyond this, it enables printing of mono and colour images for the same price, making it the most cost-efficient MFP available. This efficiency is coupled with smart design features including a 300ml supplies capacity and the ability to store up to 2 rolls of paper, both of which enable minimum downtime for the replenishment or replacement of consumables.
Like all HP technology, the HP DesignJet XL 3600 is also equipped with a number of sustainability features that enable a low environmental impact. The Energy Star® certified, EPEAT® registered MFP requires just a tenth of the energy of comparable printer models to print colour and mono images, and reduces paper consumption by way of smart automatic print settings and image nesting capabilities. Akin to other printers within the HP product family, the HP DesignJet XL 3600 allows users to avail of free, convenient, and safe disposal of used HP ink cartridges as part of the company’s international recycling scheme. To date, the scheme has seen the diversion of more than 220 tonnes of plastic otherwise bound for oceans and waterways into the manufacture of Original HP Ink Cartridges: 80% of HP ink cartridges and all HP LaserJet toner cartridges are now made with recycled content.
