A villa development project in Maroubra, Sydney has found a simple solution from TEXO to address a highly complex and time-consuming on-site water detention issue on the site.
Four two-storey villas were being constructed on the site in Maroubra and the builder had a major challenge on their hands because they had to satisfy the council’s on-site detention (OSD) requirements. The high water table at this site caused considerable problems for the builder to satisfy the council’s OSD rules.
Instead of the conventional method of excavating a massive pit to meet the council’s OSD requirements, Aquacomb was chosen as a simple and highly cost efficient solution.
The specified Aquacomb system consisted of 100 inter-connected pods linked laterally to retain 35,000 litres of rainwater overflow to meet on-site detention needs. Designed for easy installation in a matter of hours, the system was incorporated in the concrete floor of the underground car park.
