Natural materials including timber and stone were used in the refurbishment of a period home in South Yarra, Melbourne to add a sense of balance to the project.

The Tivoli Road Residence refurbishment designed by BayleyWard Architecture sought to combine the old with the new, seamlessly integrating new architectural elements into the historic building.

The use of natural materials also complements and highlights the home’s existing period features. The restrained and sophisticated colour palette further adds to this balance.

Tongue n Groove solid engineered European oak floorboards in Ardesia colour, Eterno classic wire-brushed finish and Grande format feature throughout the home, including the stairs, complementing the elegant interior.

For added visual interest, a custom pattern is used on the flooring. With a soft grey wash and warm undertones, Ardesia is perfect for creating a calming effect in a contemporary environment.
