The first proposed publication of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment is a short form guide that deals with prescriptive means of fire protection of steel. This provides builders and other interested parties with a list of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment member companies. The member companies of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment operating in this field include both manufacturers and suppliers of the fireproof materials, as well as the applicators or installers of the materials.
The second proposed publication of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment is an equivalent of UK’s ASFP Yellow Book and is almost an equivalent of the defunct ASIC Green book.
Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment has a formal collaboration with the Australian Steel Institute, which helps in producing some fireproofing publications related to fireproofing of steel framed buildings. The current projects undertaken by Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment include buyer’s guide for construction products for bushfire prone areas and industry best practice guideline for acceptance of alternative products.
