Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment is involved in providing information for fire protection. Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment is also known as “The Alliance” or “pfpa”. It was formed in early 2002 with the help of the following original founding companies like Hilti, Lorient, Promat, Pyropanel, SmokeGuard and Trafalgar. Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment was formed in response to the need for a well-coordinated, educational effort to boost the level of a balanced fire protection design.
The members of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment constitutes a wide range of interested parties like manufacturers and suppliers, maintenance and service providers of smoke and fire containment products, installers, trade associations, insurance companies and fire test laboratories.
The shared goals of Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment members are to promote passive fire protection as part of a total fire safety design approach and to promote property protection and public welfare as well as life safety.
Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment also emphasises on promotion of fire fighter safety and facilitating fire fighting activities. Alliance for Fire & Smoke Containment even disseminates technical information to the Fire Safety Community and promotes competency based training, accreditation and licensing.
