Kings Roller Grilles and Shutters (KRGS) recently executed a complex door installation project at Sydney Domestic Airport.
Folding closures from KRGS Doors were specified for a series of new shops in Terminal 2 of the airport. Given the security implications of the airport project, KRGS’ team had to work through delivery curfews, which meant ensuring truck deliveries at night and having all doors and tools X-rayed and bomb swiped before going on site.
KRGS Doors were tasked with installing their folding closures on several new stores including Amcal Chemist, Relay, Blue Illusion, Newslink, Kaboom and Lego as well as refurbish the door at Three Chocolatiers. Working with the shopfitters, KRGS Doors recommended a suitable product that satisfied the architects, designers and Sydney Airport.
All the stores were fitted with KRGS folding closures, customised with powdercoat finishes and curved head tracks to suit each store’s branding requirements. For the Three Chocolatiers store, KRGS rebuilt the door, replacing the solid clear polycarbonate infill with a mesh infill to allow 51% airflow into the store.
KRGS doors are compliant with OH&S requirements and do not feature a floor track, eliminating any potential trip hazard.
