Case study: Mountain Park, Springfield Rise, QLD

Nestled 40 minutes southwest of the Brisbane CBD, Springfield Rise by Lendlease stands as a beacon of residential development near Spring Mountain, designed to enrich the local community through extensive parklands and creative communal spaces. FORGE was honoured to collaborate with landscape architects Vee Design on the preliminary designs of an innovative custom play structure at Mountain Park, located at the heart of this burgeoning community. 

The design of Mountain Park’s new playground features more than 25 unique play elements and a captivating figure eight junior play area. The heart of the project was the creation of five towering stone-like monoliths, each standing between 4 and 5 meters tall, designed to unlock the magic of the outdoors and foster connections among the community, nature, and the landscape. 

Upon the successful completion of detailed designs, FORGE was entrusted with the full-scale construction of these features, novated under Eureka Landscapes. This complex endeavour demanded unparalleled craftsmanship and innovative problem-solving from our design, pre-construction, and manufacturing teams. The monoliths were expertly crafted from Glass-Reinforced Concrete (GRC), a choice reflecting our commitment to sustainability and durability. 

Additionally, the project included the construction of a 5-meter footbridge, enhancing accessibility by providing safe passage over the adjacent creek, further tying the community to its natural surroundings. Mountain Park celebrated its grand opening in mid-2024, marking another milestone in our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and enriching solutions for communities.
