AWS windows and doors help bring vision to life at open plan home in Wilberforce NSW

Nestled in the small town of Wilberforce, NSW and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, this architectural home redefines modern-day living.

The client for this property had a simple vision: a contemporary open-plan home that seamlessly connects with the outdoors. Custom Aluminium Windows worked closely with Pyramid Design & Drafting (architect) and Cunningham Custom Homes (builder) to bring the client’s vision to life.

Key factors in the success of this project were the strategic placement of windows and doors, and the incorporation of sustainable materials.

At the heart of the design, Series 618 MAGNUM™ sliding doors in the main living area create a seamless connection between the outdoor deck and the interior spaces. These doors not only flood the home with natural light but also enhance ventilation, fostering a harmonious indoor-outdoor flow.

By glazing these doors with Series 400 single glazed CentreGLAZE™, the transfer of heat is managed efficiently. During winter, this glazing minimises heat loss, allowing natural sunlight to warm the interior and reducing the need for additional heating. In summer, it reflects excess solar radiation, preventing overheating and maintaining a cooler indoor environment.

This balance ensures optimal thermal performance, reducing reliance on artificial heating and cooling systems and providing year-round comfort.

Also featured in the project were Series 549 hinged doors and Series 456 awning windows.

The client was impressed with the journey from concept through to quoting and completion. The outcome is a timeless architectural home with high-quality finishes that will offer exceptional performance for years to come.
