THE introduction of nu-lok solar inserts has revolutionised the installation of solar energy roofing. Now natural slate, ceramic and solar can be seamlessly integrated at the same time. Thanks to the unique nu-lok roofing system there are no more ugly structures above the roofline to spoil the exterior of the house. The smooth lines of the original roof design remain intact and the solar area is undetectable, making future house design more flexible and eco friendly.
The example shown here is a 2.0 kW solar energy installation that could be extended to double that capacity at any time without obvious change to the exterior. The installation of nu-lok solar inserts shown in these photos took less than half a day to fit into a roof that had been totally ceramic for the past three years.
