The Doma Group, from Barton ACT, recently completed ground floor licensed area building extensions of “The Huskies Hotel” at 73 Owen Street, Huskission.
The renovation was part of its business growth program that complies with the Building Code of Australia standards and the principles of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Australian Disabled Access Consultants were commissioned by the Doma Group to carry out a disability audit inspection of the completed licensed area for a disability access building audit report for compliance with the Building Code of Australia 2010 (Parts D3 and F2.4) and Australian Standards AS1428.1-2001, AS1428.4-2002 and AS2890.1-1993 for the construction certificate.
Disabled access and wheelchair access into and within “The Huskies Hotel” building was successfully negotiated by the disability access and mobility consultancy.
Accessible parking space in the rear parking area and access pathway into the building’s front main entry doorway to comply with the Building Code of Australia Australian Standards, AS1428.1-2001, AS1428.4-2002 and AS2890.1-1993 disabled access design and wheelchair access guidelines were also grated.

The Australian Disabled Access Consultants applauded the Hotel's extension for complying with the Building Code of Australia 2010 (Parts D3 and J2.4) standards and the principles of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the active disabled access and wheelchair access strategies demonstrated by a local business’s provision of disabled access and wheelchair access within a licensed hotel building to improve disabled access opportunities.
