Formed in 1920, the
Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. (AIRAH) is the recognised voice of the Australian air conditioning, refrigeration and heating industry.
AIRAH encourages world's best practice in the industry and is recognised by government and industry bodies for its expertise across a wide range of issues in the area of engineering services for the built environment.
AIRAH is the leading specialist membership association for professionals in:
- air conditioning
- refrigeration
- heating
- ventilation
The Institute represents 10,000 professionals across Australia, and is the official official Australian secretariat of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), is affiliated with the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) and collaborates closely with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
It is also an inaugural member of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCAus).
The Institute have a number of publications to inform its members and the HVAC&R community of what is going on the industry:
- Ecolibrium: the official AIRAH journal and the only publication in the HVAC&R realm that publishes credible, peer-reviewed technical articles in addition to news and features.
- HVAC&R Nation: a trade magazine for those who work on the tools and illustrated by its highly regarded skills workshop section.
- AIRAH Industry Directory: an A5 size publication for all members
