B&R Enclosures (B&R) has won the coveted 2014 NBN Co Chairman's Award for Supplier Excellence and Innovation, recognising the company as a leading supply partner servicing the Australian telecommunications market.
This prestigious award was awarded to B&R in recognition of its outstanding business conduct, world class design innovation, engineering excellence, supply reliability and consistent high quality.
Congratulating B&R on winning the NBN Co Chairman’s Award for Supplier Excellence and Innovation for 2014, Greg Adcock, NBN Co Chief Operations Officer said that the family-owned Australian company’s innovation solution supports the National Broadband Network’s objective to deliver broadband faster, sooner and more cost effectively.
Ken Bridges, Managing Director of B&R Enclosures attributed the win to all B&R staff that worked with great diligence and commitment to understand the needs and expectations of NBN Co, which required them to manage highly complex projects and supply demands, while maintaining technical performance.
Since the NBN rollout began in 2011, B&R has supplied Common Network Infrastructure (CNI) racks for Fibre Access Nodes, Aggregation Nodes and Points of Interconnect in NBN Co's Transit Network. This was followed by a competitive tender for the design and manufacture of an enclosure for the housing of the network termination device and power supply to be installed in customer premises.
The project required B&R to undertake extensive research into the needs of installers and home owners to provide an innovative, visually appealing, small enclosure that met demanding specifications for temperature control, cable management, as well as ease of access and safety.
Mr Bridges concludes that the NBN Co award should inspire confidence in the strength, capability and cost competitiveness of Australian manufacturing.
