Backatwork workstations from Backatwork can integrate with any modular workspace partition, provided they present a clear vertical face to the workstation.
The workstation will sit marginally away from the partition (20 – 50 mm) to allow clear movement and some margin for papers and other items that may overlap the surface.
Therefore, it will be possible for the workspace partition to have a textured surface, if that is specified by the client.
Power and data connection points must be located below the minimum operating height of the workstation, preferably at floor level, while shelving and other fixtures must be attached to the workstation, not to the workspace partition.
This will allow full, safe operation of the workstation and keep reference material in the correct position for the user regardless of the height of the workstation.
If necessary, the dimensions of the Backatwork workstations can be tailored to suit the measurements of a modular partition unit (if they have inflexible dimensions).
The height of the workspace partitions can be specified by the client. If they request that the area retain an open appearance, then take into account that the maximum height of the Backatwork workstations is 1300 mm.
If the partitions were set to approximately this height then operators facing each other would not be aware of each other’s workstation adjustments and the area would still have an open appearance. It is also rare for the desks to ever be operated at their full standing height as the average standing work height for females is 1010 mm and for males 1120 mm.
If the client chooses to use low partitions, (say 850 mm height) then it would be advisable for the workstation to be fitted with a modesty panel.
This will prevent the opposite operator seeing below the workstation surface when the desk is raised. This workspace partition option is not recommended as the raising and lowering of the opposite workstation may be considered a distraction in a call centre or office environment.
