The William Inglis Hotel and Riverside Stables project, which features blocks from Baines Masonry Blocks, won two awards at the Excellence in Brick & Block Awards held by Masonry Contractors Australia (MCA). The awards recognise the high quality and design of Baines masonry blocks and also acknowledge the company’s reputation as the preferred block supplier for architects across Australia.
Representing masonry contractors nationwide, MCA has been organising one of the country’s most prestigious masonry award programs since 1993. The Awards, which are given out across several categories, have become the nation’s premier contractor event featuring clay bricks and concrete blocks.
The William Inglis Hotel and Riverside Stables, which competed against many impressive finalists, were honoured with the awards for ‘Blockwork - Face’ and ‘Brickwork - Commercial and Public Buildings’. The blockwork featuring Baines masonry blocks was executed by E-Masonry.
Western Sydney’s newest five-star tourism and events destination, the $140-million William Inglis Riverside Stables complex offers stabling for more than 800 horses. The buildings feature Baines Masonry’s Appinstone coloured Betta Block in a smooth finish, which provides a sleek design and perfect backdrop for the equine sport. The Betta Block has versatile design capabilities while providing the structural foundation required by any architect.
