Following the installation of a 100kW solar energy system at the Bamstone factory, approximately 40% of the company’s power requirements will be met by green energy.
The installation is just one aspect of the company’s three stage Green Energy program commitment. The first two stages saw the installation of LED lighting and power correction units throughout the stonecutting facility.
For stage three, Bamstone reached out to local energy system supplier Middy’s Electrical to achieve their goal and commitment to lower carbon footprint and reduce energy costs.
“The installation of the solar Green Energy panels marks an exciting new era of innovation at Bamstone. It’s a project that we are really proud of and hope that other local and regional businesses will be inspired by our adoption of sustainable energy,” Bamstone company director Michael Steel said.
The solar installation was officially unveiled by the Governor of Victoria, Linda Dessau at the Bamstone factory.
