Bildspec recently installed a Series 100 Konnect double glazed operable wall at Georges River College (Hurstville Boys Campus) on behalf of the Department of Education NSW.
Bildspec acoustic folding doors have the ability to divide classrooms and segregate learning spaces at will. The purpose of the acoustic folding door installed at Georges Rivers was to divide a common use library from a separate training room and study area.
The high acoustic ratings achieved by Bildspec operable walls facilitate flexible learning spaces where children can learn in a quiet yet robust physical learning environment. This is achieved by greatly reducing external noise from passing into each classroom. This reduction of sound is measured as Rw (Weighted Sound Reduction Index). Different combinations of top/bottom seals and board constructions are crucial in the wall’s ability to overcome sound transmission issues. The wall installed has an Rw45 sound rating and is supplied with bottom mechanical retracting seals.
