Bildspec recently installed two operable walls within the ultra-sleek head office of the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) at River Boulevarde, Rhodes. UAC processes applications for admission to most undergraduate courses at participating institutions (mainly located in NSW and the ACT).
The installation consists of a Series 100 Konnect double glazed remote stacking operable wall (Rw48) with inset pass doors and 3-way multi meeting post, which runs perpendicular to another Series 100R (solid) operable wall (Rw52) separating two meeting rooms.
The purpose of these office partitions is to separate the two meeting rooms (Training/Board Room spaces) from the greater lounge reception area, and to further allow an acoustic division between the training and board rooms. The office partitions were designed by builder Crest Office Interiors to give the client the flexibility to open up all areas into a full entertainment area whilst also delivering the higher acoustic rating that the Rw52 wall affords the boardroom. The solid operable wall is finished in a Woven Image face with inset vitreous enamel whiteboards.
Operable walls are acoustic rated office partitions that allow larger spaces to be transformed into flexible environments that suit the working style of employees or the intended purpose and function of the relevant space. They are also perfect for situations when a wider entertainment or event space is needed. Dividing panels can be opened up to connect various spaces into a larger, more collaborative environment whilst still providing acoustic separation and privacy from adjacent spaces.
